How do I build my own Templates, and share them?
Start from a standard one or from nothing, choose the proof each step needs, bundle them into a pack, and offer the good ones to every Veristep customer.
A template is the master a check is built from: the steps in order, and what each step needs before it can be ticked. The quickest start is a standard template close to what you need. Open Templates, copy it, rename it and change the steps to match your own procedure's words. You can also start blank, describe the work in a sentence and let the assistant draft the steps for you to edit, or bring in a filled spreadsheet template from Import.
For each step, pick the proof it needs: a photo, a reading with the acceptable range and its unit, a pass or fail, a seal, a signature, or a document. Mark the step required if the check must not close without it. A reading can also require a calibrated instrument, so the meter has to be in date before the number counts. File the template under its system family (electrical, plumbing, medical gas, envelope and so on) and, if it is for one kind of machine, that equipment type. If your firm works on equipment the standard list doesn't have, an administrator adds it under Equipment → Equipment types.
Editing a template changes what new checks ask for. A check already in progress keeps the steps it started with, so fixing a typo for the next job never changes the proof on this one. A template that has produced checks is retired rather than deleted, so every finished check still shows the name of the template it came from.
Group your templates into a pack (Templates → Template packs) so your next job starts with everything in one step. When you think a template or pack would help other firms, use Share with every Veristep customer on its card. Only the structure is shared: the steps, the ranges, the equipment types. Never your checks, evidence, projects, people or clients. Your firm's name appears only if you tick the credit box. The Veristep team reviews it; approved, a copy joins the standard library for everyone. You can withdraw it until it is approved, but not after.
