How do import and export work?

Import reads a spreadsheet of machines, locations, or people and lines each row up against your register before anything is written, so a mismatched column heading or a typo'd project name gets caught before it becomes a hundred wrong rows instead of after.

Exports is the other direction: every record as CSV, the full audit trail, and every photo, video, and file you've uploaded, bundled for you to keep on your own drive. A paying account can do this any time; a trial cannot take data out at all, by design — it's the one thing upgrading unlocks.

Neither path touches the live register while it runs in the background — you keep working while a large export or import finishes, and you're told when it's ready.
