What is a hold point?

A hold point is a step that cannot be passed on somebody's word. It names what has to be captured — a photograph, a reading that falls inside a stated range, a signature, an uploaded record — and the check it belongs to stays open until that evidence is attached.

You set them once, on a template, in the language your own procedures already use. Every machine of that type inherits them, so the twentieth unit is checked the same way as the first, by whoever happens to be on site that day.

The point is not that people are dishonest. It is that a box is easy to tick at the end of a long day, and a torque reading is not.
