How do I trace tests back to the Owner's Project Requirements?

Under Design QA → Owner's requirements, write the Owner's Project Requirements for a job as numbered items, each with what must be true and, where it can be measured, the range and unit. Add the designers' Basis of Design response to each item, saying how the design meets it. Issue a version when it is agreed; a later version replaces it without erasing it, and the job's requirements register lists both.

Link a template or a single check to the requirement it proves. Every check opened from a linked template carries the link automatically, so a functional test on every air handler counts toward the requirement it was written for.

The trace matrix shows each requirement with its tests: proven when every linked check has passed, failed when one failed or still has an open deficiency, in progress while linked work is still open, and no test when nothing is linked at all. The last group is the one an owner asks about first. The matrix prints for the turnover package.
